Kore

I descended beneath the earth
To spend my life and youth in hell
By the side of the lord of death
The barren king who was myself

My mother didn't care, I thought
That she was of her child bereaved
Bitter and lost I never saw
That wrapped in winter's shroud she grieved

"Return to me my dearest child,"
The yearning mother sadly said
I didn't heed nor care because
I was already with the dead
