Free...?
  Are my eyes blind, can I not see?
There are no chains, I'm told I'm free
Yet still there is an unseen wall
Which shuts me in, encircles all

So if I search what do I find?
A wall outside, or in my mind?
And if it is inside of me
Who could this wall's creator be?

I think it is society
Strangers and friends and family
With all their talk of moral and sin
And rules and norms they shut me in

My own freedom, for this I fight
With all my heart, with all my might
And yet there is this irony
I am my own dark enemy

I've gained some, and I've lost some
When will my life be only my own?
What will the final answer be?
That through death only I'll be free?
