Aftermath

When the burning rage is gone
There's still the grief and the pain
Hitting you with full force
Like a red-hot bullet
Tearing a gaping wound in your soul
An agony so great
You wish you were dead
Willing to embrace the final darkness
In time, all this will only be
A dim, receding memory
Everything will be gone
No emotions left
Only icecold numbness
Your wish have almost come true
A living dead, an emotionless zombie
Your soul broken
Only an empty shell
Soon the silver thread will also break
And then --
A blessed, awaited nothingness
